Patient Profile

30-year old woman with 12 month onset of severe gingival bleeding when brushing and eating. After a complete medical work up no significant findings. Oral hygiene found to be good with minimal plaque and recall appointments up to date. No clinical improvement of bleeding on probing found after regular scaling and root planing appts.

Treatment Protocol:

Treated areas with Periowave™.

Result:

Within 1 week there was no evidence of BOP. 6-week follow-up showed a pocket reduction from 7mm to 3mm.

PD: 7 mm, heavy generalized BOP

Patient Profile

73 year old Caucasian female on high blood pressure & high cholesterol medication. Patient on recall appointments every four months and has had periodontal surgery in the past. Patient experienced profuse bleeding one day that saturated nine gauze squares with blood, scheduled in for a 1pm appointment that afternoon.

Treatment Protocol:

Patient was given local anesthetic to ease pain followed by thorough debridement. At each site, Periowave™ was used twice.

Result:

Bleeding stopped after 1.5 hrs. 21-day follow up showed pocket depth reduction from 9mm to 4.5mm.
